NOTE THIS IS A CROSS POST FROM THE BEGINNERS FORUMS
I'm not sure if this is the correct forum area to post this.

I've currently got 2 corries in a 10 gal tank and want to add more fish now that the tank is done cycling. I went to my LFS at looked at fishes... after all my oh, ah, wow...

I like the following but want to make sure that they will all play nice in the tank.
The little signs of the tank advised that they are all "Tropical Fish" and were labeled "Community Fish" but I just want to make sure.

1. Silver Tipped Shark Arius Seeman
2. Jade Delta guppy Male
3. Silver Hatchet Tetra Thracocharax spp.

If they can all play well together how many of each should I get?
Thanks all...

The Silver Tipped Shark is a shoaling fish that should be kept in groups. Now the problem, they grow very large, like 24"/600mm - you would need a huge tank to keep them happy, and they will regard anything they can fit in their large mouths as food.

The Silver Hatchet also grows somewhat larger then say the Marbled Hatchet, but not as big as that shark. Peaceful enough, but quite timid and a great jumper so a well fitting lid is essential. In a tank that small, with a couple of Cories already, I don't think you have room for enough of them - you'd want at least 4, ideally more.

Guppies are fine of course. If you don't want to breed them, say 6 males. If you have females as ell, they will breed so you'll need to consider what to do with the young. At least 2 females to each male will keep the pestering level down - you'd get better advice on guppies in the livebearer forum here.

Thanks.. then male guppies only I think for now. :D

How big of a tank would I need for the sharks? I plan on moving into a home withinthe next 6 months and after that I want to get a big, big tank for my living room. I went to my LFS and saw a nice 125 US Gallon tank. It was not very tall (i think about 4 feet deep but it was very long. I could lay inside of it and I am 5 feet 11 inches! I also so a very tall one that was 75 gal. That one looked like a big box.

Would these be okay for the sharks? I really want to get some sharks. ;)
Want to be able to tell my friends that I have "sharks" in my house.
