He may be one of the most beautiful birds in my garden and he may have one of the saddest songs I've heard...... BUT!!!!.... there is no ways I'm sharing any more Goldfish with him.....

As I'm typing this.... I hear his sad song from outside, but for maybe too long, he's been abusing my hospitality providing a free menu for breakfast and supper on a daily basis..... I could well imagine the blighter sitting up there and deciding "will it be a pink one today?, or would I rather have one of those black ones with the big eyes..... Maybe a medium red one??....."......

Well! Those days are in the past!.... Too much is just Too much... I can see the numbers of my GF drop and he is responsible..... This afternoon..... I put some bird netting over my Goldfish pool outside and I can hear an extra sadness in his song today..... He'll have to move on to greener pastures......

This is the culprit.....(Kingfisher) As I say...beautiful with a heartmoving song.... but I am no longer fooled by his hypnotising approach....

Beautiful bird, but I think you've had him to dinner too often.
Hope he didn't take too many of your fish

He's had his fair share of easy fish.... just about 1,000m from my house there are about 7 dams with lots of natural nutrition for him to feast on.... less decorated though, (reds and pinks) but still taste the same... and slightly more difficult to get at..... Let him earn his keep!!.... Tillapias are plentifull in the shallows.....

I am contemplating having him FOR dinner......

ah i saw a quick glimpse of one of these when i was a kid, didnt know they sing. gorgeous birds but not worth feeding your pets too im sure he can go down the river, just being lazy!

A Blue Heron robbed my father of all his koi one summer before he discovered what was happening to his fish. Some he had for years and were 12" plus.

Sorry for your losses, but happy you found the thief before he picked you clean!

He really did make a big dent into my stocks, but since I have no market for the fish and can produce another 2,000 at a weeks' notice..... He was (kind've) welcome to them....(up to a point of course)..... I currently have some 1,500 fry in the fishroom which are ready to be transferred outside to the (now covered) pools.....
