Sexing Severums

finally got him/her to pose

ok...with these pics to look at i'd say male. it's got the marks on the face and it's dorsal and anal fins are pointed. as said before, people will probably argue over this. as far as i know, the ONLY 100% acurate way to tell is to see it spawn.

whatever it is... it's nice and unique looking. whoever picked it out did very well

I dont like to say this, but im erring on the side of female! Females do get pointy fins like males, but they are not pronounced.
How big is the fish? If its over 6" its a female, under 2" probably a male.

Thanks, was kinda hoping for a male as i'v already named him Cyril!

Were we looking for something to go with the 2 oscars and I just fell in love with him and just had to bring him home!!

How big is it?
You may have to wait a few months for him to grow before he can be properly sexed (ie, two people can come to the same conclusion!).
