Mature females are wider when viewed from above while mature males have thicker pinky pectoral fins.

What tank are you keeping them in?

This is too small, he would need to be rehomed. Then you could buy a smaller pleco, like a Chocolate Zebra Pleco?

Unless they are very close to maturity (sub-adult) then sexing is extremely hard and at most a guess, even as adults they are quite hard to sex.

It really doesn't matter on sex due to them needing extremely big ponds to spawn and mud banks to spawn in. These fish are 10 a penny and not only not worth breeding but due to there size people cant house them throughout there full life ending in a lot of them having to live in unsuitable conditions.
