How do i sex my platy's?

Look at the anal fin. If its fan shaped, then its female, if it's pointy, then its a male. If you still dont understand, look in the fish index, and look for platys. They have a nice little diagram on how to sex them.

Thanks alot mate, out of my two platy's i have 1 male and 1 female, however my female happens to be a lot larger than my male..?

Ummm, ok......lol. However if I were you, I'd get at least one more female. The ratio of males to females should be 1 to 3/4 (or more).

Animation, you're going to need 1-2 more females, I'd say 2. When you have just one female, all of the male's attention is on her. The males are little mating machines, so the constant following will stress her out, which can lead to aborted fry, birthing difficulties, and sometimes even death. When you have more females, the male's attention is spread out between them, so no one gets all the stress.

And yeah, your female will be pregnant. Any female in with a male is pregnant. For more information about fry, look at the pinned topics in this section.
