is there a way to sex fish??

so far in my tank i've

2 domino damselfish
1 humbug damselfish
1 perculla clown (was hoping for 2 but some clown in the store bought the other 1 as i walked in)
and a cleaner shrimp

i'm going to look at getting another clown hopefully they will pair up, would it be wise? or should they ideally be introduced to the environment at the same time?

and if so, do i really want babie clowns??

can they be sexed so that i don't end up with babies, although in looking them up i've found that the male can change sex if the reproducing female dies would it change if there were 2 males?

You can't really avoid babies with perculas because, as you say, they can both change sex as and when they want. If they pair up, the dominant one becomes the female. If then the female died and you replaced it, it would be possible that the original male could become the female. Course, they might not pair up at all. Also, I think if you already have one percula, as long as the next one you add is a different size to the one you have, they should be ok.

Now, why can't humans be like that?! So cool.

I think it sounds cool ;) :good:

well to tell you the truth i've i woke up and found that i had grown an inny instead of an outie i wouldn't bother getting out of bed for a while ;)

For ur 2nd percula, I would recomend not getting the biggest one they have in their quarentine tanks, I'd go with the smaller/est one as its likely to be a male.

To clear this up, the larger of two clownfish will be the female and the smaller the male. They are able to switch sex ;). As to which one to buy, I'd get the largest one or the smallest one in the tank. Anyway you look at it, dont leave the clown you have for more than a month alone (tough to introduce a mate after a month) and dont add one the same size.
