Hello, is there an easy way to sex corys, I have two peppered ones? and two albinos. I think there great and hope they are happy enough to breed.

Normally females are bigger and plumper than males, from an above view the female should be more rounded in the belly region.

If you have albino C. aeneus, the most popular albinos, they will look like these. The female is the one on the bottom.

The difference in the peppered corys, C. paleatus, is even greater. The only pictures I have are of the fancy, long finned variety, but it will give you an idea of their body shape and relative size.

Keep in mind that if your corys are still young and small, the difference won't be that noticeable. If you are planning to breed them in the future, it's also a good idea to get a few more of them. They like to be in a larger group and when they spawn you will get more fertile eggs if you have two males to a female.
