Sexing Angel Fish

there are two ways.
1) DNA testing but it will cost a lot.
2) Wait until they breed and see which one lays the eggs. Female angels (and other cichlids) have a short fat ovipositor (egg laying tube). The males have a longer thin ovipositor
Male cichlids will sometimes develop a lump on their forehead. This is a fatty deposit that is quite noticeable in well fed mature fish.

not really no.
Females can eat more and end up fatter than males but if there is only one in the tank you won't have anything to compare it to.
The best way to get a pair of angels is to buy a group of 6 or more and let them pair of by themselves.

alternatively look for the one that lies around all day, whinging and holding the remote control - that'll be the bloke!!!! :D
