setting up a shrimp tank

would it be alright to start with a smaller group then 10? haha I'm not sure what normal prices are for RCS but any at my LFS cost $6 per shrimp. And I will be heavily planting the tank as well :)

It would be fine, but you increase your chances of some M/F pairs the more you buy.
More M/F pairs = more offspring

They don't actually "pair up", but if you only get 3 or 4, and they end up being all males, then no birds + bees, lol
 
Cherry Shrimp cost anywhere from $2-$5 each.
alrite, i saw some fire red shrimp for $3. ill maybe get them but add up slowly or add 10 all at once

What in the name of Thor almighty?? Corydoras cost $7 each at my LFS, the rarer ones costing over $16 each.

oh my! the juliis cost 7 or 8 usd i dont remember, wow, must be lucky!
my store is a PetSmart, a fish never died because they were sickly, only because i was being dumb

will it be fine if i keep them in a breeder? the tank has some flow so im not sure if should start with bamboo shrimp first...
the tank is low planted..
