Setting Up A 125 Gallon Malawi W/pics-going To 75 Usg Now

I totally rearranged my rocks. I added about 5 bigger ones. The biggest probably weighs about 40ish lbs! It's on the eggcrate so I hope that will disperse the weight enough. The others are about 1/2 that size or smaller....This rock pile will have to work for awhile! I'm not going to rearrange for a long time! Hopefully it's good enough! I have to be somewhere in about 30 mins so I'll clean up water spots and take pics later!

my 29 gallon. I took out the coral and I'm going to take out most of the gravel. This will be my fry tank! (hopefully my fish will breed)

I took my plec back to the LFS and they actually gave me a credit for him! I wasn't expecting it since they get a few back, but mine was only 8" long so still sellable.

I got 5 yellow labs. They're swimming in my 29 gallon for now. I'm still trying to figure out the quarantine thing. I've never done that before honestly! I am now because I don't want to wipe out my other 17 fish!(more expensive fish/definitely more expensive than my 5/$5 neons I used to buy!). How long do you quarantine or do you?

I think what I'm going to do is leave them in there for at least 4 weeks and then when I move'em to my main tank(provided nothings appears wrong with them), I'll get some more to quarantine!

WOW this could take awhile! Oh well, gives the bio load time to adjust, i suppose!!!

My yellow labs appear to be doing good still 2 more weeks and i'll add them to the main tank
I tried to take some pics of them, but they are totally camera shy !!! Everytime I would hold the camera up they would take off and hide! Oh well , here's the better shots of what I took of them.

I haven't found any albino bristlenoses yet ....I think I'll have to mail order

I'm also thinking about doing something w/the intakes...buying some glass and painting black and gluing to the corner of my tank on each side a little in front of the back(Only about 5-6" wide)...That would hide the heaters and intakes from straight on anyway! I don't know...was thinking I could look into changing my intake tubes to black or clear if I can find the same sizes I dunno! Any ideas?

The bright green intakes do stick out a mile lol ... i dont know what the manufacturers were thinking ?? maybe they were made to camouflage with plants ??

You could put them in each corner and hide them with some tall plants ? ... Or build rock up the back ? ... Im not sure wether spare tubes/intakes in different colours are available ? but thats just here in the uk... Im not sure wether this would be safe or not but maybe you could paint them black ?? You could check in the DIY section for help.... just an idea.

I'm having some algea issues w/my tank. I posted questions about it in the plant forum. here it is

It's like it's settling on the top of stuff. I've never really had an algea issue before...at least as looong as I can remember.

Looks completely normal to me... i get that. Id just leave it to grow on your rocks... i have mine, they like to grace on it. It grows on my intakes/heater ect and glass!! I clean it off the intakes ect when i clean them and i have an algae scraper for glass that i use...

Nothing to worry about though.

Which reminds me ... ive just started seeing red algae growing on one of my slates. I need to look into that...

Not really, at the mo lol... there's about three little inch-long blobs on the corner of a peice of slate. But i think its growing ... and im not sure wether i need to worry about it or not ??
