Hey guys,

My mum has had her panda moor for about 6 months now, so he's a fair size. She rang me yesterday to say that he had turned completly upside down (on his back). She moved him to another tank, so he is on his own, and has treated with swim bladder, anti-fungus/fin rot (his fins were blood shot) and has also done an anti-internal bacteria treatment. She said he is still completly upsde down, but is breathing normally, and doesn't seem stressed at the moment. She's asking me what to do with him, but I don't really know, so I'm asking you guys for your opinion.

Please help.
Thanks x

Try feeding him live daphnia or treat with a mild epsom salts solution....may be constipation or simply his swim bladder...try raising the temp slowly in his tank , as this can occassionally help..

Hi
What are the water stats in the tank? Unfortunately these kind of problems usually stem from the fish being kept in poor conditions, i.e the water quality isn't up to scratch. Generally this itself is caused when the tanksize or filtration isn't enough for the fish

Size of tank in gallons or litres.
How many fish and which type.
Water stats in ammonia, nitrite, nitrate, and ph.
Does the fish look bloated.
Once a fish is upside down it rarely makes it.
Red fins, septicemia to bad water quality.

its a 300 litre tank, whith 4 comets or sorts, and 3 moors/fancys. fluval FX5 filter, and not sure of water stats, but i dont think they are fantastic. it just came on all of a sudden, within half an hour he was on his back.

Take a sample of your water to the lfs and ask them to write the readings down for you.
I would strongly suggest investing in some liquid test kits.

I would do a gravel vac and water change. Increase aeration till you know your water stats.

How many gallons does the filter turn over an hour.
