Hi,

I'm very new to this whole fish keeping thing, but we inherited a tank from a friend who had to move house.

We've been adding sera aqutan a water conditioner every time we change the water. We were given King British Safe Water as a replacement, but it says that it needs to be added weekly as well as with water changes.

Does King British Safe water neutralize chlorine or are they two different things with different uses?

Any one able to shed any light for a very confused new fish keeper

Thanks

Put them towards the back of the cupboard and get some decent stuff. Ensure it removes Chlorine and Chloramine though.

I believe Seachem Prime is one of the best on the market.

Totally agree seachem prime best value for money & quality water conditioner

I would imagine the other stuff does exactly the same job.

Manufacturers of food, filters, water conditioners and other fishy stuff nearly always tell you to use/replace their products more often than you need to. That way you buy more!

But tbh, they don't. The better quality ones tell you how much you need to add which is considerably less than the cheaper ones which is why it is more expensive and thats it. No 'add it every week' just use it to the correct dose and that will be fine.

The price might be double, but the concentration will be triple. No two ways about it really.

Brilliant!

Thanks for the advice
