Seems To Be Alot Of "fake Pms Going Out"

What about (if the software allows) not being able to put hyperlinks in PMs? If someone wanted to do it for legit reasons, there are plenty of ways to overcome it (such as the traditional www.fishforums .net, or however else you might feel like doing it) but it will at least stop people clicking on links sent by spammers and ending up on porn websites.

It wouldn't even have to be permanent, this sort of thing tends to last for a short while then stop.
good idea IMO :good:

somthing needs to be done

Tolak can maybe shed more light on ths subject but I don't think we can remove links from PMs. Anytime someone clicks the "Report" button, it sends out a PM to some or all of the mods with a link to the thread reported. I guess hyperlinks could be treated differently since they hide the actual address We're hoping that the flood control on the PM system with 3 minues between sending PMs will stop it. I can't see that they would benefit much by having to wait 3 minutes between sending them. Of course, they are hitting all sorts of forums (do a Google search for "jurdreda" and it will reurn numerous sites where that name is registered) so I guess they could just go around the list and post on another one and then come back to here.

Best advice I can give is to treat a PM the same as you would any email. If you don't recognize the sender (check their profile to see how long they've been a member and how many posts they have), then don't click any links in the PM. Also, if you hover your mouse pointer over the hyperlink and look in the lower left corner of the browser window (at least with IE), it will show you the website that is associated with the hyperlink.
