I need a new filter for a 125 gallon tank. I’ve been using Fluval canisters for a while, but find them heavy and bulky to pull out from under the tank for cleaning. Plus, it seems like Fluval products run high. Has anyone used a good canister for a 125 tank?

All canister filters will be heavy to move when full due to the water in them. Having several smaller canister filters would make it easier to lit and give you good filtration but you still have to bend down to get them filter.

You can have canister filters next to the aquarium as long as the water level in the aquarium is above the top of the filter's motor.

You can build sliding trays under the tank and have the filter on that so you slide it out and then lift it.

The only other options are HOB (hang on back) style filters like the AquaClear 70, or an internal filter (maybe a large air operated sponge filter). These have their own drawbacks but are generally easier to move due to being lighter in weight.

Eheim classics are great, I find them very user friendly. Fluval imo is my favourite for performance but Understandably yes are heavy and bulky.
