I have been having a bad problem when ever I do a google search for this website I click on the link and then it takes me to a VARY inappropriate website. Then when I go back and click it agin and it takes me where I'm supposed to go. Any idea why this is happening?

I can confirm this, But only when I use Internet explorer, and when I search for the site on google and click the link to bring me to the site.

Try clearing out your cache and see if that works. The issue should be fixed (knock wood) and hopefully what you are seeing now is residual. If not let me know.

The best way to avoid this issue is not to use Google to search for the site, the problem only happens when you click through from a search engine.

Just type the website address directly into the address bar at the top of your browser, and you come straight here. If you really can't remember the address, then create a bookmark. If anyone would like instructions on how to do so, please reply, and I can post some instructions.

It is not only Goggle, Bing gets the same thing.

Your solution is great for people that have been here before. What about people looking for a forum to join or just some info? Would you even think twice about trying to get here, if you were directed to a malicious site from your search? I happen to have a desire to use a particular search engine to get here and other places because I get rewards for searching, so I basically use it as a bookmarks bar. If that is the solution that the powers that be are going with, I am going to have to stop coming here. I would miss this resource.

Someone in charge probably needs to talk to Google and/or Bing and explain the situation. They should be more than willing to help out.

This should be fixed now.

You are quite right about that, and my statement wasn't intended to suggest that we don't care about new users who are genuinely searching for help.

I'm curious as to what is causing the problem.

I'm no expert, but as I recall, there is an additional call to a javascript file somewhere, usually in an advert, which causes your browser to redirect to the advert site. The javascript file sets a cookie which expires after a day, so when you go back, and reclick the search engine link, it ignores the redirect. Then, when you do the same thing the next day, it redirects again.

What I don't understand is why it only does this from a search engine link, rather than directly accessing the site.

I am guessing that since our anti-spam measures are working so well, that the spammers have taken to this activity to get their spammy messages across.

It's going to Adult Friend Finder, which has an over 18 pic, from Bing on my home machine.

Clear out your cache and give it another try.
