Ive had to remove my background picture, which was positioned inside the tank & sealed to the back. I now have a mirror in the background but its covered with the sealant i used. I have scraped the thick layer off but i was still left with ugly smear marks so i tried using white spirits & nail varnish remover but this isnt as easy as i thought.

Is there a better alternative than white spirit?

Stanley blade, run the whole blade down the tank, gently scratching off.

Ive used the blade to take the top layer off but i would rather avoid using more than i have to as ive scrathed the tank in areas.

Pull the blade down flat, not using one corner of it

Ive got a vertical blade but its not doing anything ... just scraping over the greasy smears. I was hoping there was a better liquified soloution to use

i'm affraid elbow grease is the best thing. I used lemon and vinegar (Kim and Aggie style) and they did go.
