Would it be possible to keep seahorse in you tank???

I could be wrong, but even in a saltwater set-up, they are close to impossible to keep. Seahorses don't have stomachs and as such they need to feed continually and eat only mysis shrimp plankton. I doubt you could even buy one anywhere. Ask in the salty section.

My LFS has a pair of them for £100. they look great but too much work for me =D

Iv just posted in the saltwater section see what they say...

There are only two breeders of them here in Northern Ireland that I'm aware of.
I know a few people who keep them but definitely salty.

It is possible to keep seahorses at home, but they're not easy, even for experienced marine fishkeepers.

I just have no knowledge on them in the slightest I thought they was freshwater :L

I imagine if you got the time and money you can keep anything :good:

Osaka aquarium in Japan have a whale shark. No space in my living room for one just yet though

. Seriously though, it is very true about time and I would imagine seahorses would need some serious dedication to keep them healthy.

They need to be in there own tank as well from what I remember reading as you can imagine there not fastest of fish and would end up losing out every meal time. Very shy fish and less water movement the better.

A friend of mine had one years ago. She paid a small mint for it and had it imported for overseas. It died within a week. They have very specialized requirements and I would highly suggest doing as much research as possible if you were really considering owning them. My friend didn't and that poor little creature suffered because of it. I suspect it starved to death.
