Hi folks,

Some of you may have noticed my post about getting a Juwel Rio 300 but I'm starting to have doubts about getting this. My reasons are - I don't want an internal filter that I'm likely to replace in 6 months. Also it seems awkward to add more lighting. Access for external filter pipes, cables and possibly co2 tubing looks a little limited.

So the bottom line is that I have been looking around at other alternatives. The best I can find at the minute is Seabray which actually manufacture in my town but sadly do not supply direct to the public.

Does anyone have any pro's or cons for these tanks especially with regard to cabinet quality and adding extra lights?

Again I really would appreciate any help you folks can offer.

I take it you are in Essex, Seabray and their counterpart Seashell are both good quality tanks and cabinets.

Another one to consider is the classic cabinet company in Hull, they are reasonably priced and deliver.

There used to be a good quality and very reasonably priced tank and cabinet manufacturer in Hertfordshire, but I cannot remeber the name.

All the above do excellent quality cabs and are designed to accept more than just 2 lights

Really glad to hear Seabray are reputable. I'm hoping to visit the shop that I bought my last tank from which is next to the A10 in Enfield. I guess it is borderline Hertfordshire so maybe they will know the company you mentioned. It's always good to see a price comparison at least.

My main concern is to buy exactly what I need and not have to replace equipment further down the line. I learned this lesson the hard way when I bought a tropiquarium 88. It is damn near impossible to add lights without busting up the hood or replacing it. Additionally the filter is quite an eyesore and again has problems for replacing so fingers crossed I'll get it right this time.

Thanks for your help.
