Scratches =[

So nitrite is 0 and nitrate is 0. If it is a cycled tank then you should have some nitrates (orange/red test).

Ok I know which sponge you used. Which side did you use though?

I think I've got them mixed up as I often do. In the API testing kit the one that makes the blue liquid is at 0 and the one that makes an orangey liquid is at 0 as is my ammonia. I always get them mixed up =\
And it was a washing up sponge so like the ones that have the darker green bit on the one side which is a bit more abbrasive?

This is what happens when the wrong thing is used.

Green washing up pads are very abrasive and should not be used as they are for pots and pans! The sponge ones with the white scourer are ok as they are for non stick surfaces.

But one has to ask why?? The cost of a proper aquarium safe scourer is minimal so why not use the right tool for the job?

I have a proper aquarium one that is on a stick and has two sides and a planter thing, but it rubbish abs doesn't budge the algae from the front!
The tank was from my brother and he never really scrubbed it often so when I received it, it had those tiny green spots of stubborn algae all over the front, so ive been trying to get them off ever since, whilst also trying to move the sand that sticks to the glass.
Did a test yesterday:
Ammonia: 0
Nitrite: 0
Nitrate: 5
