The aquarium doesn't have any fish in it yet, but it is filled with water. Is it ok that the outside walls (made of plastic) are scratched, or will the aquarium be likely to break?

Also, if it is ok that they are scratched, is there any way i can remove the scratches of make them less noticeable?

it depends ho wdeep he scratches are and how much water is in the tankto make them less noticable try cleaning it and using the anti scratch stuff from cd's for the outside or perhaps a thin layer of silicone sealant if its one the inside.

I dont see the scratches being a problem unless they are deep gouges in the side. Acrylic is a lot tougher that glass when it comes to scratches. As a matter of fact that is probably the biggest complaint of acrylic tank owners is that they get scratched up.
Do as Jamnog suggest and see if you cant find a commercial scratch remover and give it a try

ok i'll do that :)

one last question. . . if there are scratches inside the aquarium, can i use the commercial scratch remover in there, or will it be harmful to the fish?

well im not shure but i wouldnt like to chance it some types of alchohol used in the dryin agent will be ok but yo dont know about petrochmicals and they dont allways show all the chemicals it might not kill your fish but like i say i would not takethe chance myself. i think that a thin layer of awuarian sealant on the inside and give plenty of timeto dry its pretty cheap in small tubes. next time your ordering off the net have a look at the fish shops they will have sealant. why not get a book from the thingy at the bottom hint hint

well i guess ill pick up both the comm. scratch remover and the sealant. thx jamnog and les

There is an acrylic scratch remover made by Novus that is HIGHLY recommended.

I found it at TAP Plastics in Dublin, CA, and on various internet sites (If you have trouble, let me know. I must have a link on my other computer for one of them).

It leaves ABSOLUTELY no sign of the scratch after buffing with a microfiber cloth.

Make sure to remove ANY trace of the compound before adding water or fish if it is used inside the tank. Neither Novus or the plastics place can verify that it's safe for fish.

This should be a very easy fix for you.
