Scorpions As Pets

Yep always check under the dunny seat. Don't want to get bitten on the ass by a redback spider. How embarrassing that would be. Where did you get bitten son. Um Ah, on the butt 
Also have to watch out for centipedes. They are bigger and meaner than the scorpions. And they have poisonous fangs to kill their prey with.
We used to fight them when we were younger. We would catch a scorpion and a centipede and stick em together in a bucket. We did the same thing with spiders and preying mantis. Geeze we were mean kids back then. We also used to napalm ant nests. You mix up some petrol and oil and pour it down the ant hole. Then drop a match on it.
Gotta watch out for giant kangaroos and killer koalas when out in the bush. Sometimes big male kangaroos consider you a threat to their girlfriends and come after you. If they kick you with their back legs they can tear your guts open.
And never handle a wild koala bear. They jump out of trees and rip you to pieces with their claws. The males also bite and if your really unlucky they crap on you from way up in the trees.
Don't ever try to pick up lizards out in the bush because the death adder (a snake) has a tail that looks like a lizard and it is lethal. Like dead in 10 minutes if you run around screaming. We also have tiger snakes and dugites that are highly venomous but are pretty shy and don't bother to attack you. But in the eastern states there is the Taipan and they chase after you and bite you over and over again. They can kill 100 men with a single bite and the bloody things try to bite anything that moves. They are one of the nastiest snakes in the world. It has a relative that lives in New Guinea which is even worse. And in Africa they have the black mamba which is just about as bad.
The cobras from Asia, India & Africa are nothing compared to our snakes. Neither are the rattle snakes from North America. I think we have 7 out of 10 of the worlds most dangerous snakes here in Australia.

once you've been here for a bit and you haven't been eaten by a great white or hospitalised by a redback or funnelweb spider, most people forget about the animals here and just get on with day to day living.

The only ones to be afraid of are the funnelwebs. They kill people. But you just stand on them and they go squish like any other spider.
