scissor tail going to explode!??

I noticed 1 of my scissor tails had pop eye about a week back so I had started treatment with Melafix as my lobsters in the same tank needed it for shell rot aswell.

a few days ago it looked really good.

i just saw it today and both eyes are well out again and it looks like someones stuck a pump in it, it seems that some scales are sticking out a bit and some areas it looks like small ammounts of blood are coming thorugh.

what can i doooo

No i don't have a spare tank to put it in.

Although I might take it to work and use our vacilities, or euthanase it there.

Yea I would get him away from other fish asap. A water change after removal would not hurt.

Sounds to me like it has a bad case of Dropsy. Dropsy is caused by either organ failure or enviromental factors; ecessive sodium chloride levels, high nitrate levels, bacteria, or poor unsuitable diet. Interpet #9 can help in some cases, or other broad spectrum antibiotics. However, it normally proves to be terminal and in alot of cases it is best to consider euthanizing the fish sadly.

I'll test my water tonight or tomowrow to check on that.

I did change my filter over Friday, from a fluval 2 to a fluval 3. I had washed the 2 sponges in the tank water then ran the new filter in that muky water fro a bit to get it going nicely.

the butterfly fish and lobsters were fine and the other scissors.

I'ved missed the last water change as i thought i shouldn't during treatment although i did a small one during the filter swap.
