Schwartzi Corys

hi all
well i got some new corys today, agassizi corydoras. they look stunning but can find very little info on them even on google was just wondering if anyone had any of these that could give me a bit of info on them
on 1 site it said they need a well planted tank is this true

oh yeah my albinos have spawned as well so hopefully they will hatch this time

They are more commonly called spotted corys but there isn't a lot of info on them. What you do find on spotted corys may not be them either as there are several species called spotted corys. I have some that were sold as Corydoras Melanistius but the pics I have seen of the 2 look identical.

Corydoras Agassizii
Corydoras Punctatus
Corydoras Melanistius

I found listings for all 3 of these by searching for spotted corys. All of them look pretty similar but do have slicghtly different markings. With the way a lot of LFS are, it would be easy for them to be sold as the wrong one.

Corys do need hiding places (plants work fine) since they are mainly nocturnal and don't like a lot of light.

thanks RDD, well after researching some more & with the help of them links you gave me i've just realised i've got schwartzi's not agassazi corys.
so will now go research some more

Yep, that is another of the similarly colored/striped/spotted ones. I'm not really sure which ones I have so I only have them in my profile as spotted corys.
