is there such a thing? and by schooling tanks i mean a tank made for large schooling fish like barbs or neon tetras or sumfin, well i got a 3ft x 1 ft x 18 in, and im looking for some fish that will make pretty good solid object of just a school of fish (like kinda in the sea where you see just a huge group of fish swimming in sync) what kinda fish would i be lookin for? tiger barbs? neon tetras? i want fish taht will move together all the time maybe even silver dollars?

*edit*

what are some schooling fish that can go together with like just other fish that kinda spice up the tnk? im really liking neon tetras and tiger barbs but i know tiger barbs are pretty aggressive

If you get a large external filter or a sump system you could have 50-60 neons and these will look great schooling in them numbers

emperor 400 its rated for 80 gallon tanks >.> and this is freshwater no sump XD

if you keep Tiger Barbs in a shcool of 6 or more then it tends to cancel out the aggression.

i have 8 in my 4 foot tank and they school together and they only squabble amongst themselves to establish a pecking order (which is great fun to watch)

i plan on getting tiger barbs, but are there any other fish out there? im kinda not wanting guppies or mollies im not ready for breeding yet, but there so beautiful <3 any other cool schooling fish that all swim together?

your signature makes me want guppies...lol, cories? i think i saw some cool white and black ones that my mom loves so how many would i get?

preferably 5-6 at the least, they r schooling fish as well.

Just because it is freshwater doesn't stop you having a sump. I haven't run any tank without a sump (FW or SW) for over 3 years now.

Edit

and on a really techy point, you are almost certainly not going to have a school of fish in a tank, but much rather a shoal.

If you get tiger barbs I would probably get about 12 to 15.
Other fish to look into are rummy nose tetras. They tend to stick together more closely than other tetras.
Rainbowfish are good too. :)

Tetra just kind of sit there doing nothing, bit boring IMO...

lol yes i want some active fish i guess as he said "shoals" i just want fish that will be nice to look at but also be active lol so the barbs are looking very good, right now though i havnt been able to find some ammonia (found a janitorial strength jug had 10% ammonia but didnt say anything else so i didnt buy it though when i shook it no bubbles(well little) appeared is this what im looking for?)

Blue Neon Rainbows are a very nice schooling fish. They dont grow as large as other rainbows so would be perfect for a 3ft tank. Often labelled as Dwarf Rainbows too.

As has been said here too, Tiger barbs will school together and a large group of 10+ looks amazing. I have 15 in 62gal and there is no aggression towards anything else. You also might want to consider different strains of Tiger Barb, like, Golden, Green, Emerald Green, Albino, and of course normal. I have all these together and they all school perfectly together and the different colours look amazing.
