Scarlet Tetras

Hi Scotty, Your fish look like Flag Tetras (Hyphessobrycon heterorhabdus) Here's a link (Hope it works) www.seriouslyfish.com/kb.php?t=pv&s=2.2&p=5 :good:

Don't think the link worked, try again. http://www.seriouslyfish.com/profile.php?genus=Hyphessobrycon&species=heterorhabdus&id=473

Loads of tetras seem to have two or three names depending on what country they are sold in or even what the LFS is told what they are by the supplier, best to go with the latin name as that usually doesn't change. Theirs a good list of Tetras by The-Wolf on this forum. http://www.fishforums.net/index.php?/topic/102401-tetra-size-list/

That's a nice little tetra there, far nicer than a Glowlight IMO, the black line and the slight silver slither between that and the orange make it far more prominant and showy than the glowlight, take it they grow to a similiar size? (3-4cm ish?)

I also have some of these, they were sold to me as "fire line tetra" but i have to agree with alan3513, they are flag tetras/belgian flag.

How much did you pay for them if you dont mind me asking. And where did you get them from?

thought they were not glow lights, i have seen them labelled as chocolate tetras when they were on sale at Dobbies

I think it was something like 3 for £15. Cant remember entirely, but i will getting some more in the not to distant future.
