Good luck with the opaque backing.Couldn't get mine quite right after several attempts,but then i was informed that Dutch scapes need a darker background.

Ahhh I had a thought the other day, the stems are gonna get to near the surface so might not need a backing after all.

Hmmm, maybe, we'll see. I'll put up a vid later of the glassware, looks really nice for cheapo goodies, was doing a vid of that and my male Ram went all "I wanna be in your movie" lol. You'll see later on, I need to edit the sound of the baby making a racket out first lol.

they are a new way of planting...i mentioned them in a thread about a couple of years ago and they are just getting there.

They're great plants, there's 2 pots of 1-2 grow Staurogyne in my Rainforest scape, all the Staurogyne you'll see is from 2 pots. Next scape in this tank will be all 1-2 grow plants, 12 pots worth to show how good these are.

Again! Can't get Tropica in the US. I'm so disappointed too, I have been wanting to set up a tank just to play with aquascaping, and a 1-2 scape would be a nice way to start

You could get someone here to order them and send them to you but that depends on laws. They're grown in a pot from tissue culture so will defo survive the trip but the customs might be a problem.

I've noticed those 1-2 pots online - are they significantly better than 'standard' potted plants?

Oh yes, no melt as they're grown specifically to prevent that and they cover huge amounts of substrate. They say on the tub will grow to 20cm wide in 30 days so we'll see how true that is soon.

you still might get melt from certain plants, due to C02 changes, the stems don't tend to loose the leaves around the bottom.
