Last thurday for my bfs birthday we went and bought some new fish for our 180l community tank:

We now have - * 6 panda corys (original group)
* 2 Julii corys (new)
* 5 Glowlight tetras (original)
* 5 kitty tetras (new)
* A Veiltail Betta - Jazz (new)

I have just seen one of the Glowlights nip Jazz on his tail, I never saw this happen with my old Betta Vadar but we only had him a few days and they were all put in at the same time.

Jazz is active and his fins aren't clamped but I think he is still settling in, he hast eaten much but his tummy doesn't seem to be small.

My question is will the nipping settle down? Once the Glowlight gets used to him - it only seems to be one Glowlight at the minute....or should I think about separating Jazz into his own tank? I didn't feed the fish yesterday but the tetras seem to be looking for food today so I popped a few flakes in and now they seem to be leaving Jazz alone.....

I just want everyone to be safe and happy!

if it were me i would separate him into his own tank because there could be more nipping going on while you aren't there to see jazz getting nipped,
but if you can maybe se up a video camera then look at it when you get home to see if there were more nipping going when you aren't there, and increasing the numbers of the glow light tetras to 6 or 7 might also help

I would separate them. Tetras are nipping and fast fish. They will pester him and stress him out, not to mention causing fin damage. I'd remove him sooner rather than later.

Jazz has now been moved into his own tank, this morning he was nipped and chased into a corner :( so hopefully he will be ok. Thanks for your advice.
