Saving Energy On Fishtanks.

Are there anyways besides turning the lights off etc to save energy on the fish tanks.. Any special outlets and what not?? Low energy fish tank bulbs?

buy a lower voltage but will make your tank darker...fluorescent bulbs really dont take that much energy

A single tank has very low power consumption anyway but if you are running multiple systems there are a few ways to ecconomise.

Use a compressor with an air ring main to power your filtration.
Keeping all the tanks in one insulated room and then heating the whole room instead of each tank individually.
Plumb the tanks in to together on a gravity fed centralised system to create water flow without having individual powerheads in each tank.
