The idea of using a breeder net to supply snails sounds good, but I'm afraid the reality would likely be that the puffer will chew through the net and eat the larger snails the first time it got hungry. I first kept guppies with my S/A's and had one of them do exactly that to get at the fry.

Yeah, I was thinking more in the idea of a thick plastic breeder, not the net style ones.

From the looks of things I'll be away for only a week at Xmas so from the research I've made, I'll probably just drop him in a bunch of snails in a spot where he can't get to them, and let them feed him gradually.

I've also found he eats goldfish pellets, so I might buy an automatic feeder. Not ideal I know...
