i have sand in my tank and my water is cloudy but in my friends tank who also has sand it isnt is this normal

Can you give us a little more information on your tank and how you have it set up? Things that might be useful is the process you used for putting the sand in your tank, how long the tank has been running, your water stats (ammonia, nitrite, nitrate, temp).
