this maybe a easy question for some but i want to know...


how do you clean sand?
i know with gravel the use a gravel clean and because the gravel is heavier than the fish poo and food so it falls back to the bottom of the tank.
but how so you clean the sand?

I personally use a fine fish net, keet picking the sand up in the tank and wiggle it until the sand all falls out and the poo etc stays in the net. Thats my method!

I still gravel vac it, but I set my bucket on the ledge in front of my tank to reduce the suction. It won't suck as hard and pull as much sand up.

i use the gravel vac and hover it just above the sand and it sucks most of the mess up and hardly any of the sand
