could i use playground sand in my tank, and how would i wash it?

Yes you can use play sand. You would have to rinse it really good. Put some in a pail and rinse it about 20 times or until you're satisfied.

will the sand make my tank cloudy no matter how much i rinse it?

as long as u wash the sand enuff it should be okay

if the tanks empty then put the sand in and then fill with water......swirl round n drain the water out.....do this till ur water is clear enuff to see thru til the other side.......as the rest of the particles will settle after a few hours........i recently did mine with aquarium sand n it only took 3 does

Using Sand in my 30 gal, bought aquarium sand it took about 8-9 rinses but the ending effect is definately well worth it.
