I want to do this tank with sand but not sure what the ratio is pound for gallon.
The tank is a 45 gallon, the dimensions are 48 X 16.5 X 13. How many pounds of sand would I need?

Thanks in advance. :)

Get a minimum of 50 Pounds, but I would recommend 75 so you have extra. 2 x 50 lbs of Play sand is perfect and only $2.50 per bag at home depot.

The general rule is 1 pound per US gallon. Of course, this is just a basic guideline and it mostly goes out the window when you decide how deep you want your sand to be. Start with 50 pounds, that should give you a good layer of sand, add more if you want it deeper. Use less if you prefer a shallow sand layer.

I work it out to be 66.47 lbf; that gives you a depth of 2" all over.

I have a 46g bowfront and got one bag of playsand and it covered it perfectly

At £3 a bag - Buy too much - Spread the rest on your lawn - It'll be good for drainage B)

I really like the look of the Tahitian Moon Sand. Does anyone know what the texture is like? Is it softer like the play sand? And will it make my little corys happy?

I would think a sand aquarium would get very dirty very fast lmao.
