Sand Cleaner

hi all,
 
i have recently set up a 200 lt tank using sand for the first time and just wonder if theres a fish or any other creature you can get to keep the sand clean as i am fairly sure in nature they dont use a syphon vacum!!

There are certain fish you can get that can stir up the sand, relieving air and gas pockets, also sifting the waste to the top of the sand, like khuli loaches, but there is no way around having to vacuum the top of your sand bed.

Corys, Weather Loaches etc.
My weather loaches bury themselves in the sand all the time and are constantly cleaning the sand plus fantastic to watch!

I agree, weather loaches AKA dojo loaches are awesome!!

i use malaysian trumpet snails and my cory catfish to stir up the sand.

kind of like the weather loach,possibly get a little big once fully grown by thanks for pointing them out as never seen them before.
 
i have four cory cats which seam happy with the sand base.
