Just read the thread below that cardinals don't like salt treatments.
Guess what... I have six ichy cardinals in the tank (and some guppies a gourami and a few larger tetras) :X

So.... do I avoid the salt treatment and just go with the ich killing potions?

I just answered this on another section. No, don't put salt in with cardinals.

well i put in 1 teaspoon of salt per gallon a couple hours ago, and my neons are doing fine. so is my black moor.

;) Well you really shouldn't they are quite intolerant like myself and alien answered on the other page...yes go with the medicines ;)

jungle makes a great scaless fish medicine for ich well it is just like the other 2 said kozzy and anna the salt will kill them fish or burn them real bad one.I have lost a rainbow shark that I loved very much because my boyfriend put salt in the tank without me knowing he didnt know that he was killing them he thought he was helping them out . It took me for ever to get him to tell me that he out the salt in the tank.

i saw on petfish.net a picture of a cardinal, and a picture of a neon. they look identical to me except for the fact that the cardinal pic is drawn, and the neon is an actual pic. as far as i know, i have neons.. they could be cardinal tetras though seeing as how the LFS sold me a black moor and said it was a mollie

in other words, i put 1 teaspoon of salt per gallon with mY "neons" or maybe cardinals... and theyre fine.

edit- i just saw in the fungus post that cardinals are bottom dwellers? well my "neons" are always hanging around the bottom... so much so that i have to get their food down there... so IF theyre cardinals, they are perfectly fine with 1 teaspoon of salt... at least mine are

Cardinals have the red extending to the end of the tail and neons just around 3/4 up. :D
