iv had my tank for about 4 5 years and i got some new fish last week...... got up yesterday and found 4 dead....... i got told a table spoon of salt might help... can any one tell me is that right....

What fish do you have?

Adding salt will depend on what fish you have, as it can be really bad for some fish.
Oh, and it's not normal salt you put on food ;)

adding salt is a "trick" for killing some bacteria but it's not really the best advice i'd give for getting read of them...

usually you add salt for fist which live in .. grr i don't know the word... it's water that is neither salt neither fresh, somewhere between saltwater and freshwater (but i don't know the word sorry)

You need to ask alot of questions to figure out why they died. Where they the new fish that died? exsiting fish? where they all compatable? where the fish really all that healthy when you added them? are the water conditions they same as they water they were in before? I definatly wouldnt be adding any salt until you can really figure out what happened the salt might make a new problem for the exsiting fish.
