Are they Blue Acara's???? I used to have a blue acara and it looks almost the same....

Common Names: T-Bar Cichlid

Synonyms: Cichlasoma sajica

Family: Cichlidae

Origin: Central America.

Main Ecosystem: River

Temperament: Semi-aggressive. Not recommended for community tanks with smaller fish.

Diet: Ominvore

Care: Feed with flakes and cichlid pellets. The T-Bar cichlid has no special requirements, though plants may be eaten. Some caes are recommended.

Temperature: 23°C - 30°C

Hardness: 7.0°dH - 15.0°dH


Potential Size: 12cm (4.7")

Activity: Diurnal

Breeding: The T-Bar cichlid is a prolific cave breeder. Pairs are not loyal, so keep an eye on them as aggressiveness will build with age. Excellent parents.
Gender: Mature males will develop pointed dorsal and anal fins.

Comments: A rarer fish. A good challenge for aquarists with intermediate skills
