I have a 30 gal tank with 2 silver dollars 1 bala shark and 5 zebra danios but if it is easier ill put the danios in another tank. So i just need some help on which kind of cichlids are safe to add example cutteri and i was told that having drift wood in your tank will change your ph levels, bad or not.

The silver dollars and balas are schooling fish and need to be in schools of 4 or more plus your tank is way to small for them.

balas get up to 14 inches i believe, but for sure at least 12 inches, silver dollars i dont know how big exactly how big but they get way to big for a 30 gal

Silver dollars should ideally be in groups of not less than five. They are a very skittish fish and because of this they require a tank of around five foot. Bala shark average out at around 12" and should also be kept in groups. Their tank should be six feet in length. In a thirty gallon tank, you could have a pair of convicts, firemouths or any of the smaller species. Look for fish in the Archocentrus, Thorichthys or Cryptoheros groups, and you can't really go wrong. Alternately your size tank would make an ideal South American dwarf cichlid tank.

Good advice thanks for the help

dwarf cichlids would be best for you, something like the german blue ram, or golden ram.

or you could have african shell dwelling cichlids

never heard of them mate, i keep african cichlids more than anything, ive kept south american cichlids in the past but they grow to big for your tank, central american cichlids from what ive heard as a generalisaion are very aggresive.
