sad faced betta, looks constipated..

hi all, well, mr purple has gotten really fat lately, but i thought it was him just eating more, now im not sure if hes either bloated or constipated, as hes really not his usual self, hes just mooping about the tank, laying on his side on the bottom, and in his tunnels.

ive read that u can give them peas, is this used for constipation? also, how do i prepare them? any particular sort?

to give you an impression of what he looks like, its almost like a girl who is full of shed loads of eggs. only i know hes deffo a male.

Hi!
Yep, he's probably constipated.
I buy a bag of frozen peas, keep them in my freezer, and then when I need some I put a few of them into a small bowl with some water, cook them in the microwave and then let them cool - then squish them so the shell comes off and chop up the middle part and drop it in.

Don't give him any regular food other than the peas for a few days.

he lives with neons, will they be ok eating pea? or sud i take them out, until hes not constipated?

Personally, I would take him out and put him in something else to stay.
They might be stressing him out too...


But, they will be fine eating the pea if you leave them together.

well ive just cooked them, gotta wait til their cooled dwn enough to feed them to mr purple. think i mite give the girls some to, see if they will eat them, as ive neva tried them on peas at all!

ive been away along time kevin, mainly down to work, and the tank crisis' ive ha lately. all sorts of problems. i lost snow queen a while back, still not sure wot caused that. then 2 weeks ago, i lost 3 of my females and a pygmy, still dont really know wot caused that, they didnt look like they had nething wrong with them, and the water tests all came back normal. (sorry for making this so long, il pm u kevin)
