Hello, I was wondering if I could run two eheim classic 2213 externals in one tank with both filters using the same intake and spraybar. Can this be done? I could use an eheim t junction to split the intake pipe into both filters and the use another t junction when the water flows back out the spraybar. Would this work?

Thanks.

you COULD do it... but i would be inclined not to merge the return pipe... the outlet is fine because it does not work under pressure... but the two pressure pipes would compete and reduce the overall performance.

you can link the two cannisters like this

in from tank to canister 1
out from canister 1 into canister 2
out from canister 2 to tank

that way canister 1 can be for mechanical/chemical filtration
and canister 2 can be purely biological :good:

Indeed, the latter would possibly work better- easier to set up and much easier to clean the mechanical media.

I did that awhile back and, just changed it back to normal tonight. I lost a TON of filtering performance by havinh 2 filters running as one.

Thanks Wolf, that's a very good idea.

Double J, did you lose performance using the set up that Wolf explained or some other set up?

you may lose some performance... if you do however just go back to running 2 seperate canisters  simple solution to a simple problem, anyways good luck with the set up :D
