Wondering where everyone keeps their tanks?

I am well & truely bitten by the fishkeeping bug & get such a buzz from sourcing a tank, planning it, buying everything, setting it up, even cycling, I think I must have an addictive personality :hyper:

We now have 4 set up, 2 in the dining room where I spend a large part of the day as my desk is out here, one in the lounge & the nursery tank is in my daughters bedroom. So far so good..........

But I have soooooo many plans, i'm even considering having roof blinds in the conservatory so I can put some tanks out there, that would be very cool, we dont really use it, soI could have a room full of tanks, & a big squishy sofa but I would worry about it being too warm & bright out there at the moment.

Problem now is I have found another tank I want, I have heater & filter & the offer of mature media, all for a tenner, seriously,i'd be mad not to wouldnt I? I've no idea where it will go or what will go in it yet, but thats half the fun.............

Do I need help??????

Yes is the simple answer! I think we ALL need help!!!

You are very lucky. I have managed to wing my way to getting just two tanks in the house and my hubby would flip if I added more, although I have my eye out for a bigger tank (Rio 300/400 or a vision)
He has said that if I buy him a bigger house I can have as many tanks as I want! like that is gonna happen on my salary.

Do you have garden space? Maybe a shed would be a good idea.
I know people who have done that or maybe in a garage?

As for the tank.....BUY IT!!! £10 is a bargain what ever the size of the tank. You can always use the bits that come with it and put the tank into storage until you sort out more room!

na you dont need help
i got 7 tanks now and always on the look out for more
4 in the lounge
2 in the kitchen
1 empty on the sideboard until after my holiday then i'll be a betta home ;)

kitchen worktops under the cabinet are a good place for tanks

It's a recognisable complain its called MTS multi tank syndrome and there is no cure

I now only have 3 tanks left, two, a 5ft and a 3ft are in the lounge, the 35L is in the kitchen.

However up until 6 months ago, I had two in the lounge, 3 in the kitchen, 1 in the hallway and 1 in my bedroom. It was at the point were I did nothing but clean out tanks, that I decided Id gone past the point of a hobby and into obsession. So I slowly got rid of them, rehoming some fish, moving others around. In this process Ive changed my rooms around no end to find space for tanks, removing furniture, selling furniture, upgrading TV's because others were too bulky! I wouldnt be in the debt Im in now if it wasnt for my fish - I blame them totally. I was on the verge of kicking out my teenage sons for their room, but apparently this was decided to be be not a good idea!!

hehe you guys are funny, glad to be in such good company :good:

I'm so bad, hubby will hate that i've found you all! I brought it, couldnt help myself, i'm gonna get it in a couple of days

I run a small business, the profits from which are our pocket money, for the kids things, hubbies hobbies & mine, so I am paying for it all (so far) & havent had to resort to beans on toast for everyone for a week to fund my habit(yet).

I wont allow myself a credit card, I know it would be soooooo tempting, I think it would be really easy to blow a couple of grand in a day with this hobby.

Hubby started moaning at my new purchase, then I reminded him he has two cricket tours coming up & is staying away with work for a week in May,this is my compensation! Oh & I will be dragging him around Maidenhead Aq at Peterborough over the weekend with a note book making lists of what I want to put in it.

We have a large garage which we are clearing out at the moment, with the idea of putting the car in it at night, but fish tanks sound much better!

I have 2 tanks currently, but trying to get a 3rd. ;) I have one in my bedroom and one in my dining room. Trying to figure out where to put the 3rd, and my guess is either my bedroom or the spare bedroom.

yeah, fish tank in the garage sounds perfect in there for now ;)

 hes going away for that long? well you need a BIG fish tank to get lots of fish to keep you company so you don't get lonely :)

I need help too then lol. I have in my living room 2 juwel 300'ds a 4ft tank in an oak cabinate and a 3ft x 3ft tank for the turtles. I have a 3ft in the kitchen and the hospital/quaranteen tank lives in the kitchen. My boys have a 3ft each in their bedrooms. I have just bought a rio 400 but have absolutely no where to put it (yet)

and I live in a 2 bed terraced house lol. I blame the stars personally, I am a pisces so is one son the other is aquarius.

I said we'd only have one tank... That was in November.
Now I have a 125L (soon to be upgraded to 240L), a 35L that did have Disco (my betta) and some pygmy corys in - but they've all moved into the community. In that time I also bought a 15L quarantine tank...
It's scary how tanks move into your life LMAO
But heckif you want it, can support it and will enjoy it then go for it =)
