I know there was a post recently on Rummynose / Flamehead Tetras and how to identify them.

I know one has a sort of yellow / gold colour on it's tail fins and I know one grows alot larger than the other (I think rummynose are the smaller).

I'm looking to put neons and either rummy / flamehead (whichever are smaller) in the same tank as a few guppies.

Sorry, my question is how do you identify rummynose / flamehead tetras?

I meant to say that I know that one has certain colourings whilst the other doesn't but I wasn't sure if I had it the right way around.

Thanks

Well, according to Wolf's post here, True Rummynoses have distinct yellow on their tail, while the Fireheads have no yellow. :)

Also, true Rummys get bigger...about 2", where as the Fireheads get to 1.5".

What anna said

you are very lucky to find "true" rummynoses as they are not that often available in the trade.

Definately seen both locally - they're such lovely fish.

There is one currently on it's own at my LFS - I feel sorry for it so I may buy it to keep my oto's company!!!

Thanks all!
