Rubber Nose With A Male Betta?

My Male Betta lives in a 25 litre (6.6 us gallons) Its heated, filtered and cycled. Alge is now forming so im thinking of a small plec, bulldog maybe (rubbernose). My only worry is that i tried 3 Khuil loaches with him not long ago and he didnt like it, he became very stressed ect. Any advise is more than welcome!!!!

An oto would be the only plec I'd trust in a tank that size, and as they need to be kept in a trio, I'd say you're better off using a mag float
