Royal Pleco

i wasnt arguing with you i was just making an observation, does that mean the shop will shop will move him around till they sell him?

Also this has just come into my thoughts there is no wwod in his tank!!!!!!!, surely the owners should no he needs this

I might buy him and put them together just over the weekend, thoughts

I know you weren't arguing with me. :D

As for how the shop treat the Royal, that'll depend on how knowledgeable and/or caring they are. Our LFS had Royals in with other non veggie fish, but they don't know much about them (and won't listen/don't care). Yes he'll need bogwood in with him, but again that's down on them. You'd think if they're expecting £50 for him at that size, they'd be feeding him properly, but more fool them.

Can't advise you on whether to buy him or not, because I'm not in your shoes and when it comes down to it, you've had the advice on here and it's best if you make your own mind up based on the information you've sought out. Edited to add: I would make damn sure he's got a full belly and isn't hollow with sunken eyes, etc, because if they're not feeding him properly, it could well be that you pay out and he dies.

Best of luck :)

Thanks again ill sleep on it, at first i wanted to buy him because he looked a funky fish, now ive read what he needs from people on this forum i want to buy him because it dosent look like hes being looked after properly. OH WHAT TO DO

It's a tough one, but remember they'll just get another in if they sell this one to you, so don't beat yourself up if you decide not to take him. If you do decide to take him, you'll need to weigh up the pros and cons of keeping him in with your others. :good:
