Rosey Red Minnows

I saw some rosey red minnows today for like 12 cents so I was wondering if I could get some of those and get like 10 to keep in a fishtank like a regular fish?
Has anyone done this before?

Yes you can. I've never done it but I got a cousin that has a few in a turtle tank. The turtles don't eat them fast enough and some of them grow up.

I have 6 in a 10 gallon tank. They're nice little fish, and not at all like white cloud minnows, more like a dwarf cichlid IMO - they're bottom dwellers for the most part, and they spawn in caves akin to cichlids. I've gotten a few spawns in small flower pots, but haven't tried raising any fry.
