I got a tiny one ffrom my lfs which cant be over 15cm long and more than a 1cm wide. I was wondering what else i can feed it, so far its eaten bloodworm and i know they can eat things like prawns and worms but im worried they might be a little big so is there anything else i can feed it on?
Cheers

Once acclimatised to your tank, they should eat almost anything.

When I got mine, they were very reluctant to eat. Started them on bloodworms, and once they were feeding on that, it was relatively easy. Now they get bloodworms, minced fish, Tetra Prima.

Btw, I have read from numerous sources that Reed Fish don't like to be alone. I have heard of numerous cases where a individual fish will pine away and eventually die. If kept in small groups, they do much better and are constantly interacting.

While I was new to fishkeeping, I had a lone rope fish. He wasn't active but 3 years later, he's still here. However, He's extremely territorial and aggressive now.

Thanks, ill give some of them a go. I would love to get more but cant find any around here. I think it will have to go fairly soon anyway, its only just over 10cm but i was hoping to upgrade to a 60G in the near future but doesnt look ike thats going to happen quite as quick as i had hoped.

I would special order another rope fish (reed fish)if you have to. They do love company. I had two from the start and one died two days after I got him and after that my other rope fish would not come out. I had to wait a few days for my local fish shop to get another one in but as soon as I put the new one in my old rope fish was so happy. I have had my local fish/pet store order things for me. You can also order online but the shipping is $$$. Good luck!
