Hey guy I have a group of 10 Rodway tetras I was watching today and noticed one’s tail was a bit different. It looks a lot darker compared to the other tails and was wondering if this is a breeding thing or something hierarchy related. They are wild caught specimen so it could maybe be a locality thing

It's interesting, and you have a good eye.
It could be individual variation,, but if they are wild caught, it might also be a 'mixer', a similar fish not noticed by the exporter, either from the same habitat, or from the exporter's. Keep a good eye on it and see if there are any other differences in time. I've had slightly different tetras end up larger than the rest of the group, for example.
Hemigrammus rodwayi has a large range, and that's a problem for identifying any fish found with it, if it isn't just a mutant tail pattern on one fish. Little silvery tetras are hard to identify.
