So I feel utterly terrible! I bought an Anubis plant for my betta tank which I took out of the pot which contained what I'm guessing to be rock wall! I have a new live plant in my fantailed goldfishs tank which kept coming up to the surface so I decided to plant them in the pot with the rock wall! Now since buying it at an aquatic centre I would have guessed it would be for aquarium use! However two days later I noticed both my fishies acting skittish and a little unhappy! So that's the only thing I could think off since its the only recent thing ive added to my tank!! I researched it with some saying they use it in there aquariums and others refer to it like fibre glass which like every one who comes down from there loft and feels itchy after! I've removed it and performed water changes and swear my arms itchy from having it in the tank! Sorry for the long story but cut short will my fishies be OK! Feel awful!!

I may be wrong but I really doubt that's your problem. Varying amounts of the wool end up in tanks all the time as it can be a pain to get off the roots of plants, especially if the plant has been in the pot for a long time.

I agree, I can even see the wool around my micro sword, I had to leave some to keep it how I wanted it for planting. I've handled lots of it and never felt itchy. Not saying it doesn't or can't happen, but I've never experienced that myself.

That's all I can possible think it could be! They've been fine until I added it! Definitely not water quality!
Before any one comments yes I've just noticed how I've spelt rockwool!! Lol

If you just added plants it's possible that there was bacteria, parasites, or other creatures on the plants. Or it's just possible that the addition of new auqascape has made them uncomfortable.

No the plants have been in awhile just weren't rooted very well!!

I would look toward something else if it were me. I've never had any ill affects from having rock wool in the tank.
