Ro Water

thanks guys, but for the first month im having to use britta filtered, i know its not the best but it will get me started... my nano journal is beginning now in the nano reef section so if you guys can come on and help, would be much appreciated!

thanks in advance summat fishy :)

Is britta filtered water any good? I've been thinking about doing that myself after testing the water in my fridge.

My tap water is "off the charts" hard, and pH is 7.7. But the britta filtered water was about 6.6 and only a couple of degrees of hardness.

I now have fish that like soft and slightly acidic water....

after reading through this thread i actually had to check i hadn't stumbled into one of the FW forums by mistake...

short answer is it's highly preferable if you're planning on a reef and not essential if you're planning on FO / FOWLR but certainly doesn't hurt

britta filtering won't be a problem, but realistically you're wasting your time

if you're planning a reef long term but are currently getting your tank up to cycle, again tap water isn't the end of the world
