Can I make my Ro unit 'portable' by using a tap ( inside the house OR outside)?

This is because I have had two people say different things and my grandparents (I'm only 14!) don't want me ( or anyone) messing around with the water pipes :p.

Thanks for the help

I run mine of the kitchen tap as I am limited for space

All RO units require mains water pressure to force the water through the filter membranes. As long as you can supply pressurised water to the unit, be it from a household tap, garden tap, washing machine connection, etc. then the unit should work fine.

Buy the RO unit from Dr Foster and Smith, it has everything you need, to run tap water with RO water.

I run mine off the tap, portable and sometimes use a garden hose. Look at Ebay..they are reasonable RO filters for $80 without the tank.....does fine and much cheaper than most places. Check out AquaSafe systems. SH

what kind of connection to the tap do you guys use? I would have assumed that most are no where near powerful enough to contain the backed up pressure in the pipes? Hose fittings certainly arent designed to.
